Hands up who recalls the original TV Gladiators back in the 90s? The excitement of cheering on Shadow, Hunter and Jet and booing villain Wolf as they challenged contenders to their limits?

Well for all you Gladiators fans then and now, we have a real treat. Because the FIRST EVER Gladiators champion from series 1, Weininger Irwin, has created a special programme for schools, all personally hosted by the man himself.

Weininger Irwin didn’t just win the first ever TV Gladiators, he went on to create his own hugely popular adaptive fitness activity Cool Rowings, staging countless public games and events over the years, including TWO hugely successful fundraisers at London’s Copper Box Arena in 2024. 

Now an award-winning Red Nose fundraiser and official Comic Relief Partner, Weininger is reaching out to primary schools to introduce the joy of sport into young people’s lives.

Weininger wants to share decades of motivational and inspirational experiences, helping instil confidence in children facing challenge or adversity, and boosting enthusiasm for sport and fitness amongst younger age groups.

Participating schools will be automatically awarded a FAST TRACK TICKET to compete against each other in the 2025 Cool Rowings Red Nose REGATTA, a massive fundraising event taking place at London’s famous Copper Box Arena in March 2025. Planned to be even bigger and better than the 2024 Challenge, the event is supported by BBC Comic Relief AND charitable social enterprise GLL who runs the CopperBox.
